Supporting Our Right to Protest a Violent Government

Charges dropped for two of the Broadview Six – but the fight continues

In September of 2025, an ICE agent shot Chicago musician Joselyn Walsh with a “non-lethal” rubber baton round while she sang songs of protest and peace outside of a DHS detention and processing facility in Broadview, Illinois.

Weeks later, the FBI named Walsh in a federal indictment and charged her, along with five other individuals, with felony conspiracy to impede an immigration officer in the course of their duties. This is despite Walsh never having met or spoken to the other individuals named.

In March 2026, Federal Prosecutors dropped the charges against Walsh and Catherine Sharp, basically admitting they never had a case in the first place. We demand the charges also be dropped for the rest of the “Broadview Six.”

The future of political freedom in America is on trial in North Texas

Months before the U.S. government labeled Alex Pretti and Renee Good “domestic terrorists”, the FBI was celebrating the 19 arrests following the July 4th Prairieland noise demo as its first “Antifa” domestic terrorism case. Against the backdrop of a national movement, the Prairieland defendants went on trial for protesting ICE at the detention facility currently imprisoning Palestinian protestor Leqaa Kordia and over 700 other detainees.

Nine of the Prairieland Defendants were recently convicted, but defense lawyers have filed motions for Judgments of Acquittal and New Trial, based in part on allegations of juror misconduct.

Keeping our neighbors safe

The ICE Accountability Project in Chicago, the ACLU, Freedom for Immigrants, and others are documenting ICE abuses. Witnesses described inhumane conditions at the Broadview ICE Detention Facility: severe overcrowding, insufficient toilets, lack of basic hygiene, and disregard for basic medical needs.

Raise the alarm on government overreach

In the past few months, more and more communities have seen brutal and illegal escalation of ICE and DHS violence, followed by lies from administration officials who ask us to ignore our very eyes. We demand the government cease any and all attempts to criminalize dissent and release all those detained by ICE.
